Who Are We? What We're About
Christ Church Alsager is a lively part of the Church of England in South Cheshire. We’re a mixed band of people of all ages from different backgrounds. Some of us have a strong faith, others are just curious. Whether you’ve never been to church before or you’re a committed Christian, we hope that you’ll feel welcome to come along, take a look and find out more. triangle

We believe that we’re on an exciting journey towards our vision as a church. That vision is to ‘Love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength. And to love our neighbours as ourselves’ (the words of Jesus in Mark 12:28-31)We express this by aiming to grow Upwards (closer to God) Inwards (closer to one another) and Outwards (closer to our community).

One way of reminding us of this is to imagine (or eat!) a Toblerone. The bar points 3 ways –we call them Up, In and Out. But it’s also made up of individual pieces linked together and each of these pieces points the same three ways.

Wherever we’re starting from, we want everybody to be growing up, in and out –each person, the whole church, but also each different group within the church. The most important of these groups are our Growth Groups.

Growth Groups

Growth Groups are central to our life as a church. They are each made up of 6-15 people. Each group is different, but they are all seeking to grow together –closer to God (through prayer, exploring the Bible etc), closer to one another (having fun, being friends, eating meals, sharing problems etc) and closer to others (praying for the community, organising events, inviting friends). Most meet fortnightly in people’s homes. To find out more click here. If you’re interested in joining a growth group, please contact Toby. We can then suggest a group that you could try.

What Can I Get Involved In?
Christ Church is a lively part of the Church of England (in the Diocese of Chester) –although we are from a wide variety of backgrounds and we welcome everyone! We have good relationships with other local churches within Churches Together in Alsager. We also have a daughter village church in Oakhanger, where we work in partnership with our Methodist friends.

Our style is relaxed and friendly -whether in our Sunday worship services or midweek activities. We have an emphasis on Bible-based teaching made relevant to life today, coupled with an openness to the work of the Holy Spirit amongst us and a desire to share God’s love with our community. We are influenced by national organisations such as Alpha, New Wine and Spring Harvest.
