.....IS ALPHA FOR ME? Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day away at Rudyard Lake Conference Centre. It is low-key, friendly, relaxed and fun – and last year we had a great course here in Christ Church. People even enjoyed Toby’s jokes! Each week we have a meal together in the church lounge, watch a DVD by Nicky Gumbel and then discuss issues it raises in small groups. No questions are off limits and the discussions really are shaped by the participants themselves.It is free.

Over 13 million people have now attended an Alpha course, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world. Last year over 40 000 Alpha Courses were run. It’s getting more popular so come and give it a go! You do not have to have been to church recently- it’s for people who are unsure what Christianity is all about but who want to explore this. Issues covered range from “What is the point of life? What happens when we die? Is forgiveness possible? ” to “Is Jesus relevant today?”
