ALPHA IS STARTING AGAIN THIS SEPTEMBER! Our popular Alpha course will run here at Christ Church this autumn on Wednesday evenings. It starts with an introductory session: "IS THERE MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS?” On WEDNESDAY 28th SEPTEMBER 7.30pm- 9.30pm in CHRIST CHURCH HALL, Church Road, Alsager. This includes an evening meal, tea/coffee and is free. To book your place for this please either e-mail christchurchoffice@hotmail.co.uk or phone Debbie in the church office on 01270 872291 or return an Alpha booking form if you have seen one. You will be really welcome. Book in for the introductory session and see if Alpha is for you!
.....IS ALPHA FOR ME? Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day away at Rudyard Lake Conference Centre. It is low-key, friendly, relaxed and fun – and last year we had a great course here in Christ Church. People even enjoyed Toby’s jokes! Each week we have a meal together in the church lounge, watch a DVD by Nicky Gumbel and then discuss issues it raises in small groups. No questions are off limits and the discussions really are shaped by the participants themselves.It is free.
	Over 13 million people have now attended an Alpha course, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world. Last year over 40 000 Alpha Courses were run. It’s getting more popular so come and give it a go! You do not have to have been to church recently- it’s for people who are unsure what Christianity is all about but who want to explore this. Issues covered range from “What is the point of life? What happens when we die? Is forgiveness possible? ” to “Is Jesus relevant today?”
In answer to “What have you found helpful about Alpha?” One guest from last year answered “I did not know what to expect from Alpha but found the format excellent and was sad when it ended!” another said “Everything was helpful – I made friends while learning about God, creation etc," Give it a go... you won't regret it!
